Emu42 is a free Windows emulator for Hewlett-Packard’s Pioneer-series calculators, developed by Christoph Gießelink. It reproduces the original hardware at the Saturn CPU level and runs authentic ROM images, delivering behavior that closely matches real calculators such as the HP-42S. Emu42 supports realistic, skinnable interfaces via KML scripts, flexible keyboard mapping, adjustable execution speed, and save/restore of calculator state. For power users, it includes tracing and debugging tools that make it easier to study firmware and troubleshoot programs. Builds are available for 32- and 64-bit Windows, with legacy Pocket PC/Windows CE versions still provided. Whether you are preserving a favorite workflow, testing programs, or teaching classic RPN techniques, Emu42 offers a faithful, convenient way to use HP Pioneer calculators on modern systems.
Emu42 is developed by Christoph Gießelink. The most popular version of this product among our users is 1.3. The names of program executable files are EMU28.EXE, EMU42.EXE, Emu48.exe and emu8086.exe.
